A Buffalo man with two driving while intoxicated convictions in the last decade faces another DWI charge after a one-vehicle crash Monday night, according to Buffalo City Court documents.
Buffalo police responded to the crash on the Elmwood Avenue offramp from the westbound Scajaquada Expressway at about 7:40 p.m. Officers found the driver, David R. Petrea, 45, of Virgil Avenue, about 75 feet away from the crash scene, according to court documents.
Petrea, who was not injured, refused a breath test and was taken into custody. In addition to the felony DWI charge, he was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving without an ignition interlock device and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, according to court documents.
His prior convictions came in March and October of 2010, according to the documents.
