'Bad dose of crack' leads to kitchen commotion at Niagara Falls restaurant

A Lewiston man barged into a Niagara Falls restaurant Monday and tossed items around the kitchen. He later told police he took a "bad dose of crack," according to a police report.

Vincent C. Davolio, 55, of Ridge Road, is accused of entering the kitchen at Chu's Restaurant on Main Street at about 4:30 p.m., throwing things around and then going to an upstairs storage area where he allegedly threw boxes of dishes down towards police officers.

Davolio ran across the upstairs floor but then fell through the drop ceiling, where he was taken into custody, according to the police report. He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass.

While being booked at police headquarters, Davolio complained of chest pain and was taken by ambulance to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. His condition was not known Wednesday morning.
