Volunteers thanked, more needed for Pendleton trail beautification

PENDLETON – The Pendleton Town Board will recognize and thank the volunteers who helped plant and maintain landscaping along the Canal Trailheads at its meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 in Town Hall, 6570 Campbell Blvd.

Sandy and Mike Guzzetti, organizers of the Canal Adopt a Trail program, will give a presentation on the work done in the past year and will be recruiting volunteers for next season.

The Guzzettis have offered to help the town establish an Adopt-a-Trail program for the Pendleton Rails to Trails Bike Path. The board also will present certificates of appreciation to Lawson and Mihla Smith and Matias Andersson, young volunteers who helped in the planting of the trailhead at Tonawanda Creek and East Canal Road last year.

For more information on volunteering, contact Sandy Guzzetti at grinn@roadrunner.com.
