When City of Tonawanda police pulled a North Tonawanda woman over at 1:30 a.m. Thursday when she passed a red light and then stopped in the middle of Main and Niagara streets, she initially told them she was "only drinking orange juice," said Police Capt. Fredric Foels.
The officers reported the driver, identified as Tracy Wilcox, 41, showed signs of intoxication and she eventually said she had been drinking vodka, Foels said in a statement.
Tests indicated her blood alcohol content was .26 percent, more than three times the legal limit for drinking and driving, police said. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and four traffic violations. She was released on $250 bail.
