$200,000 grant to benefit Baker-Victory Services

A $200,000 grant from the John R. Oishei Foundation will allow Baker-Victory Services to relocate the main entrance of its service hub at 790 Ridge Road, according to Msgr. Paul Burgard, president of Our Lady of Victory Institutions.

The new entryway on the west side of the building will allow better access to dental clinic patients and youth participating in vocational training programs.

Other additions include a covered canopy, foyer and a WAY Café operated by students of the Work Appreciation for Youth program. The café will offer coffee, snacks and seating space.

The $200,000 grant brings the current total of the OLV Homes of Charity campaign to $11.85 million. The charity was started 160 years ago by the Rev. Nelson Baker and has since served thousands of the region’s at-risk children and families.
