A Niagara Falls woman who witnessed her father's murder last month in Buffalo, told police that she believes a Saturday morning break-in at her McKoon Avenue home is related to that crime.
Police said that someone forced open a rear door to the home between 4 and 7 a.m. Saturday and, while the victim slept a short distance away, entered the dining room of her residence and stole a plastic container holding about $5 worth of pennies. Police said that several other valuables in the immediate vicinity were left untouched.
Damage to the door frame was estimated at $20. The victim told police she suspects the break-in is related to the previous crime in Buffalo, although she could not explain how or why.
