Electronics recycling event rescheduled to Jan. 13 because of extreme cold

Did you get a new computer for the holidays? Is it finally time to get rid of your old TV?

The City of Buffalo is sponsoring an "After the Holidays Recycling Event” on Jan. 13 at the City of Buffalo Engineering Garage located at 1120 Seneca St. to help you properly discard of old electronics and other recyclable items for free.

It was originally scheduled for Saturday but with dangerously cold temperatures in the forecast, the event was moved to Jan. 13.

Items accepted include computers, printers, toner cartridges, computer accessories, televisions, tablets, scanner, audio equipment, video equipment and circuit boards. You can also recycle natural Christmas trees, Christmas tree lights, used clothing and clean white bulk Styrofoam. The trees will be chipped on site and will be given back to you to use as mulch.

Participants must certify that the items are household waste and not commercial waste.
