Beth Foels, 66, teacher, school psychologist and administrator

Beth Foels, a teacher, school psychologist and administrator, died unexpectedly Nov. 25 in her Williamsville home. She was 66.

Born in Buffalo, the former Beth Siezega attended North Tonawanda schools. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Buffalo State College in 1973 and a master’s degree in elementary education from the University at Buffalo in 1977.

She completed a master’s degree in school psychology at UB in 1995 and earned state certification in school administration and supervision at Niagara University in 2001.

She taught in the Niagara Wheatfield schools from 1972 to 1983, then was a psychologist in the East Aurora schools from 1994 to 1996 and in the Frontier Central School District from 1996 to 2001. Since 2001, she was coordinator of special education for the Williamsville schools. She retired in August.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, home improvement projects, crafting and other creative pursuits. She also traveled to Maine annually to hike in Acadia National Park.

Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey, Chris and Josh; a brother, Mark Siezega; her longtime partner, Myron A. “Mick” Thompson; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 6 in Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive at Hopkins Road, Amherst.
