Road reopened after truck hauling salt rolls over in Sardinia

Route 39 in Sardinia was closed to traffic for more than six hours Thursday after an 18-wheeler hauling salt rolled over near Johnson Road, according to the Chaffee-Sardinia Volunteer Fire Company.

The rollover happened at about 9:20 a.m. and the driver was taken to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to Erie County Sheriff's Office spokesman Scott Zylka.

Route 39 between Route 16 and Route 240 was reopened at 3:42 p.m. according to the Sheriff's Office, which investigated the crash.
