Buffalo woman gets three years in prison for biting off man's ear

A Buffalo woman was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison for biting off a man's ear.

Chris Orgovan, 43, got into a verbal argument with a man at about 6:30 p.m. June 11 at a home on Kenmore Avenue in Buffalo.  During the course of the altercation, she bit the victim's right ear, detaching part of it, according to Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn.

Buffalo Police Officer Robert Grande located the victim’s partial ear, and members of the Buffalo Fire Department assisted the victim and were able to save the detached tissue. The victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where doctors performed a successful reattachment.

Orgovan pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in August before State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski.
