A 33-year-old Buffalo man died Wednesday following a one-vehicle crash in Niagara Falls, according to the Niagara Falls Police Department.
The name of the driver was not released by Niagara Falls Police on Wednesday night.
The man was driving east on Buffalo Avenue near 56th Street when his 2001 Honda Accord apparently left the road and struck a traffic signal support pole, according to Niagara Falls Police. Authorities were notified of the crash at 4:19 p.m., police said.
The driver was taken out of the car by Niagara Falls fire crews and transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, Niagara Falls Police said.
The intersection was closed for more than four hours while the scene was investigated, police said.
