Clerks charged with selling alcohol to minors in Niagara County sting

A joint underage enforcement operation in Niagara County on Saturday led to three store clerks being charged with selling alcohol to minors.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office, State Police and State Liquor Authority had underage shoppers attempt to purchase alcohol on Saturday evening at 18 convenience stores.

Fifteen stores refused to sell alcohol to the underage buyers and three did sell them alcohol.

That led to the arrests of Tara L. Shavalier, 37, of Niagara Falls, an employee of Mrs. Thank You on Marywood Drive, Lewiston; Sara J. Perry, 29, of Lockport, an employee of 7-11 on Davison Road, Lockport, and Joshua S. Baker, 20, of Gasport, an employee of 7-11 on Telegraph Road, Middleport.  All three were charged with misdemeanor unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sales.
