Colleges: Bonnies to host red-hot Bulls

The St. Bonaventure women (5-5) will close out their four-game homestand with a Big 4 rivalry game with UB (7-1) at the Reilly Center tonight (Radio 1520 AM, 105.9 FM, 7 p.m.).

The Bonnies come into the game most recently defeating Penn State, 65-62, last Saturday. Mckenna Maycock had 23 points, tying her career-high, in the win over the Nittany Lions. Mariah Ruff added 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

St. Bonaventure will go up against UB’s stingy defense that ranks 14th in the nation in turnovers forced per game (23.0) and eighth in steals per game (13.4).

Senior forward Cassie Oursler is coming off a career-high performance last Saturday in the Bulls’ 65-63 win over Columbia. The Grand Island native earned her third career double-double, scoring a career-high 26 points and adding 11 rebounds. Stephanie Reid returned from injury, starting in her first game since Nov. 23.

Both teams have split the last four contests in the series. UB won last year’s game, 68-47. The Bonnies are 10-1 all-time at home against the Bulls with the lone loss coming in 1975-76, the schools’ first-ever meeting in Olean.
