Two men with handguns and wearing ski masks robbed a bar on Amherst Street on Wednesday night, according to a Buffalo police report.
The robbers entered Casey's Tavern, 484 Amherst St., at about 9:45 p.m. and demanded money from the bartender, according to the report. At least three patrons were inside the bar at the time of the robbery, the report said.
After taking money and the drawer of the cash register, they left the area on foot heading south on Howell Street. They may have gotten into a white Chevrolet or Nissan, according to the report.
Jodene Penalvert, co-owner of the bar, said she doesn't want the public to view her establishment as unsafe in light of what happened. "It's clearly a random act of violence," Penalvert told The Buffalo News.
