Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jordan Matthews tweeted Thursday afternoon that he had knee and ankle surgery. He said the injuries had been bothering him for two years.
Matthews was placed on injured reserve Dec. 5. He made minimal impact since joining the Bills as part of the August trade that sent cornerback Ronald Darby to the Philadelphia Eagles. Matthews, who underwent thumb surgery earlier in the season, caught only 25 passes for 282 yards and a touchdown.
"The doctors are confident that I will come back and be 100% (I'm thinking 110%)," Matthews tweeted.
He is due to become a free agent after the season.
