St. Joe's, Williamsville East No. 1 in first state boys hockey rankings

Western New York boys hockey teams are well-represented in the first state hockey rankings that were released Wednesday.

Four teams are in the top nine of Division I, while three are in the top seven in Division II.

Defending state champs St. Joe's and Williamsville North are Nos. 1 and 2 in D-I, while Williamsville East is No. 1 in D-II.

Lancaster is sixth and Niagara Wheatfield ninth in D-I. West Seneca West is fourth and Sweet Home is seventh in D-II.
