Taylor Devices wins $3.2 million contract from California hospital

Taylor Devices has won a $3.2 million contract to provide dampers that will be used to help protect a hospital in San Bernardino, Calif., from damage during earthquakes.

The contract calls for Taylor Devices to provide 108 large dampers that will be installed in an external steel exoskeleton built around the outside of the building. The dampers will help protect the San Bernardine Medical Center by absorbing energy produced during an earthquake, which was built in 1972, the North Tonawanda shock absorber manufacturer said.

Taylor Devices' dampers have been installed in more than 700 buildings and bridges to help protect those structures against damage from earthquakes.
