GOP’s tax bill raises numerous questions
After receiving a flier from Rep. Collins’ office extolling the benefits of the Republican tax bill, I had to write his office asking for answers to several questions.
My questions included: Why will trickle-down economics work this time around, when it has been tried numerous times before and it has never worked, while further widening the gap between the rich and the rest of us? Who will be saddled with repaying the trillion-plus dollar increase in the national debt that it will cause? Why will provisions that benefit the middle class be rolled back after a few years, while provisions that benefit corporations and the rich remain permanent?
Perhaps all of us in his district should ask his office for explanations for provisions that don’t make economic sense or that will hurt working-class Americans.
