Tire iron comes out after argument at Dollar General

An argument between a customer and an employee of a Dollar General store on West Ferry Street escalated into a full-fledged fight with a tire iron down the street that was recorded on video on a witness' cellphone.

A Parkdale Avenue man told Buffalo police officers that he had left the store following an argument with a store employee, but the employee pulled up next to him in her car, got out, and threatened him with a tire iron. The two continued their argument, the man told police, at which point the woman struck him in his head, neck and right arm, causing pain and bleeding, before she drove away.

But a witness, who confirmed that the woman got out of her car with a tire iron, said the woman had tried to walk away after the argument, but the man ran across the street, grabbed her and began making racist remarks. That's when she struck him.

The witness retained the video. A Dollar General worker confirmed a dispute occurred at the store.
