Let there be lights again — at the Electric Tower.
Iskalo Development Co. resumed evening lighting of the prominent downtown office building Saturday night, after upgrading the LED lighting system on the structure's exterior.
The enhanced lighting system gives the company more options in colors, vibrancy and special sequencing effects, such as allowing for pulsing, fading or circling. It also uses less energy than the old system.
The top of the 14-story tower at 535 Washington St. will now be lit in red and green for the holiday season. The 295-foot-tall tower also hosts the annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop in Buffalo.
Iskalo had suspended the lighting during the upgrades that began Nov. 27, leaving the tower unusually dark for a couple of weeks.
