Canisius High School hires new lacrosse coach

Canisius High School announced Friday it has hired Michael F. Albert as its new boys lacrosse coach.

Albert takes over for Joe Smith, who is now an assistant coach at Canisius College. Smith guided the Crusaders to the Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association championship three seasons ago.

Albert moves to Canisius after serving as junior varsity and modified lacrosse coach for the Buffalo Public Schools.

Albert, a St. Francis graduate, played collegiately at Canisius College – helping the Golden Griffins win the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship.
