Lackawanna man charged with gas station burglaries in Pavilion

A Lackawanna man has been arrested in connection with “smash and grab” burglaries Oct. 22 at the Crosby’s and Pavilion Farms gas stations in Pavilion, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Philip S. Muzzy Jr., 34, was arraigned in Pavilion Town Court on two counts of third-degree burglary, second- and third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny. Bail was set at $15,000.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that Muzzy currently is held in the Erie County Holding Center. He and James Trala, 30, of Depew, were arrested Oct. 28 in Elma in connection with a string of gas station and convenience store burglaries where a brick was used to smash glass doors. They both face felony counts of burglary, criminal mischief and grand larceny.
