Homeroom Announcements: Wednesday's big games & more

What to watch for Wednesday

1. Girls basketball - Pastor-Cooper Showcase at Daemen College

The first day of the Pastor-Cooper Showcase starts with a triple-header of girls hoops action:

  • Buffalo Arts vs. Wilson, 5 p.m.
  • Olmsted vs. Tapestry, 6:45 p.m.
  • Amherst vs. Cardinal O'Hara, 8:30 p.m.

2. Boys basketball - Burgard at Medina, 6:30 p.m.

Three-sport star Jalin Cooper and Medina host Burgard of the Yale Cup in the first game of the season for both teams.

The Bulldogs beat Medina last year, 62-44, and finished with a 12-10 record. Junior Dajuan Williams is the top player back.

The Mustangs went 17-5 last season, losing to eventual Class B regional champ Health Sciences in the B-2 playoffs.

3. Boys hockey - Niagara-Wheatfield vs. Clarence, 6 p.m. at Hockey Outlet Ice Complex

The Falcons have a win over Bishop Timon-St. Jude and a tie against defending state champ Williamsville North. This is the first game of the season for the Red Devils, who play again tomorrow against Lancaster.

- Girls basketball - St. Mary's of Lancaster at Kenmore East, 7 p.m.
