20-year-old man wounded in shooting on Sumner Place

A 20-year-old man was wounded, possibly seriously, by gunfire Monday in the 100 block of Sumner Place on the East Side, according to a Buffalo Police spokesman.

Michael J. DeGeorge, a spokesman for Buffalo Police, said the shooting happened at about 7:15 p.m. and may have been a drive-by incident.

The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to Erie County Medical Center for injuries that are possibly serious in nature, according to DeGeorge.
