Amherst resident ID cards available starting Dec. 18

Amherst residents may obtain a 2018 ID card from the town's Youth and Recreation Department starting Dec. 18.

The cards may be purchased for $5 at the department's office at the Northtown Center, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive. Proof of residency and a new photo taken at the time of registration are required for new and renewal cards.

A resident ID card is required to register for any Youth and Recreation program.

The department also announced that winter/spring program registration is underway. Adult sports include pickleball, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, tennis and badminton.  There are also activities for individuals with disabilities.

Complete offerings are available online at amherstyouthandrec.org. Paper copies of program guides are available at Amherst public library branches. Call 631-7132 for more information.
