More than 20 volunteers from the World Mission Society Church of God in Buffalo spent their Sunday cleaning up a portion of Broadway as part of a worldwide program called “Mother’s Street.” The goal of the environmental cleanup movement is to promote health and happiness among the global family.
“We’re carrying out this cleanup to share the love of a mother with our neighbors,” said Brittny Boyd, a church volunteer, in a news release. “Church of God volunteers devote with all their heart and mind to volunteer activities such as today’s cleanup to practice the love of God who created the environment for mankind.”
The volunteers collected trash and removed debris from the park and street, starting near the Broadway Market. The City of Buffalo provided gloves, trash bags and water. In less than three hours, the group covered collected over 100 bags of trash.
