McDermott: Bills awaiting word on extent of knee injury to QB Tyrod Taylor

Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor left Sunday's game against the New England Patriots with a left knee injury and was being evaluated after the game. coach Sean McDermott said.

McDermott said Taylor was "nicked" on the first play of the game and the injury worsened as the game went on. He said he "would not get into next week" until the team knew more about the injury.

Taylor was struggling before getting hurt, going 9 of 18 for 65 yards and an interception that came on the Bills' first drive of the game.

The Bills turned to Nathan Peterman, his first action since throwing five interceptions against the Los Angeles Chargers two weeks ago. On his first series, Peterman drove the Bills inside the 10-year line but an incompletion on fourth down turned the ball over to the Patriots.
