A 9-year-old girl crossing Esser Street Thursday morning was approached by a man who chased the child halfway up her driveway before he fled the scene, Buffalo police reported.
Police, who are investigating the case as an attempted kidnapping, said the incident occurred between 7 and 7:15 a.m. on Esser and Evelyn Street.
Police said that when the suspect approached the girl, she turned around to go back home and he chased her.
The suspect was described as a Caucasian man between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, slim build with a thin mustache, blond hair and green eyes, police reported. He wore a black hat, black jacket and had tattoos around his neck. He is believed to be in his 20s.
The girl recalled seeing the same person during the first week of school, her mother told police.
