Defensive end Trey Flowers among eight Patriots listed as questionable for Bills

The Patriots' surging defense could be without one of its key members Sunday against the Bills as defensive end Trey Flowers is listed as questionable.

Flowers was limited in practice this week with a rib injury suffered against the Miami Dolphins. He had four tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble last Sunday.

If Flowers cannot play or is limited, the Patriots likely will turn to rookie Deatrich Wise Jr. or Eric Lee, whom the Patriots signed to a two-year deal off the Bills' practice squad two weeks ago. Lee was impressive in his Patriots debut against Miami.

Seven other Patriots were listed as questionable, including linebackers Kyle Van Noy (calf) and Trevor Reilly (concussion), center David Andrews (illness), linebacker Marquis Flowers (knee), cornerback Eric Rowe (groin), special teamer Matthew Slater (hamstring) and  offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle (ankle).

Receiver Chris Hogan and right tackle Marcus Cannon are both out. Neither practiced this week. Hogan has a shoulder injury and Cannon has an ankle injury.
