GREENFIELD - Faith R. Of Palo Alto, California who worked as a county and public school librarian in the Buffalo, NY area has died. She was 91. Mrs. Greenfield, who died on October 21, 2017 was born in Warsaw, New York on December 10, 1925 to Morris and Stella Rosenthal. Morris owned and ran Rosen's General Store in Warsaw. Faith was a youthful concert pianist and lifelong lover of classical music and the arts. Faith earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Buffalo and a Master of Library Science from the SUNY at Geneseo. She worked as a librarian in the Buffalo, NY area in both the Erie County, NY Public libraries at Clearfield, Snyder, the Village of Williamsville and at the Kenmore East Senior High School and Kenmore Middle School libraries in the Kenmore Public School District from which she retired. Faith moved to Palo Alto, CA in 1986 where she enjoyed spending time with her family and exploring San Francisco and places throughout The Bay Area. She loved hiking, theater, concerts, the arts, and traveling to places around the world including Europe, Russia, China, Mexico and throughout the United States, and spending time with her family and friends. Faith continued her prolific love of reading throughout her life as well. Mrs. Greenfield was predeceased by sister Mildred (Sanford) Packard and nephew Richard Packard of Rochester, NY and former husbands William R. Raikin and Donald Greenfield. She is survived by her children, Steve (Pearl) Raikin of Woodbridge, Virginia; Peggy Santillo (Eric Bergemann) of Amherst, NY; Mark (Lucy) Greenfield of Escondido, CA and Chuck Greenfield of Williamsville, NY as well as her beloved grandchildren, Sarah Peterson (John) of San Diego CA; Jessica Santillo of San Francisco, CA; Matt Greenfield (Vanessa) of Dallas, TX; Jonathan Greenfield of Chico, CA; and Danny Raikin of San Diego, CA, and two great-grandchildren, Viktor and Ida Faith Peterson; nieces, nephews, and her cousin Marsha Yaraslow of Ithaca, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date in Buffalo, NY with details to be announced.
