Low-income residents can find help dealing with heating costs and other seasonal expenses at a series of open houses from Dec. 15 to Dec. 21 in Cheektowaga, Lackawanna, North Tonawanda and the Town of Tonawanda.
Services expected to be offered include legal, health insurance, employment, job training, housing and food assistance. Weatherization programs as well as HEAP applications for Niagara County residents will also be available.
The program, sponsored by the John. R. Oishei Foundation's Mobile Safety-Net Team, will be located at:
- Lackawanna: 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 15 at Catholic Charities, 75 Caldwell Place
- Cheektowaga: 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 19 at Resurrection Life Church, 2145 Old Union Road
- North Tonawanda: 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 20 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 265 Falconer St.
- Town of Tonawanda: noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 21 at Kenmore Library, 160 Delaware Ave., Kenmore
