Buffalo man charged after Fillmore Avenue stabbing

A Buffalo man has been charged with stabbing another man in the groin Sunday afternoon on Fillmore Avenue, according to a city police report.

Lionel R. Luper Sr., 43, faces charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the attack on the 2000 block of Fillmore, just north of Kensington Avenue, according to the report.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center where he was treated and released, according to Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.
