Amherst driver strikes two parked cars, found with open beer can in vehicle

An Amherst driver was arrested Sunday afternoon on a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated after the vehicle he was driving struck two parked cars on Murray Terrace, City of Tonawanda police said.

Levi J. Saladino, 21, of West Villa Drive, is accused of striking the parked cars after turning from Mosher Drive.

Police said he showed signs of being intoxicated. When police asked him if he had been drinking, Saladino allegedly replied: "Yeah, I had two beers, but they were small ones." Police said they found a 24-ounce can of beer in his vehicle. A breath test indicated his blood alcohol level was .18 percent.

Saladino was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI and traffic violations. He was held on $250 bail.
