Kenmore looks to Land Bank to rehab abandoned home on Warren

Kenmore Mayor Patrick Mang said the Village has had great success with the rehab work done by the Buffalo, Erie, Niagara, Land Improvement Corporation, also known as the Land Bank.

The  village board has decided to allow the Land Bank to consider the purchase of an abandoned property at 206 Warren Ave. in the next Erie County foreclosure auction.

The Land Bank purchases distressed, abandoned or tax delinquent properties in Erie County in an effort to revitalize the area - acquiring, rehabilitating and then reselling properties.

Mang said the village has worked with the Land Bank previously on three other properties.

"They are wonderful," said Mang. "The biggest project was at 22 Allegany Road, which was a headache for us for many years."
