Buffalo teen imprisoned for gunpoint robbery in Niagara Falls State Park

Rayquelle W. Davis was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison and three years of post-release supervision for robbing two tourists at gunpoint in Niagara Falls State Park last year.

"You're awfully young," Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III told Davis, 18, of Newburg Avenue, Buffalo. "I hope you use this time to redirect your life."

Davis was armed with a sawed-off shotgun Oct. 29, 2016, when he robbed two Syracuse-area men of cash and a cellphone on the pedestrian bridge from First Street to Goat Island.

In February, co-defendant Anthonye M. Holmes, 19, of East Amherst Street, Buffalo, was sentenced to a year in jail for third-degree robbery. Davis pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree robbery.
