Big Play Breakdown: Chiefs fake jet sweep shovel pass

Big Play Breakdown: Fake Jet Sweep Power-Shovel Option

This 15-yard touchdown against Philadelphia in Week 2 is a good example of how Kansas City coach Andy Reid deploys his two game-breaking offensive weapons, tight end Travis Kelce (87) and receiver Tyreek Hill (10).

The Chiefs run a lot of fake jet sweeps. Hill ran in motion to the left and then back to the right before the snap. Quarterback Alex Smith (11) had the option to hand off to the running back on a power run behind the pulling guard, who blocked linebacker Nigel Bradham (53). Instead, Smith threw a shovel pass to Kelce, who was too fast for Jordan Hicks (58) and then leaped over safety Corey Graham (24) and into the end zone.
