Steuben Trust buys vacant branch in Clarence

Steuben Trust has completed the purchase of what will become its first branch in the Buffalo Niagara region.

The Hornell-based bank bought a former KeyBank branch at 8503 Main St. in Clarence for $405,000, according to county records.

Steuben Trust now will enter the design phase of the project, said Steve Harriger, the bank's marketing director.

KeyBank closed the branch, at Main Street and Harris Hill Road, in October 2016, after completing its acquisition of First Niagara Bank and consolidating the combined branch network. Steuben Trust has operated a commercial lending office in Elma for more than two years.
