Frontier Central School Board members are interviewing candidates for superintendent and hope to have someone on board early next year.
The board started the search process in August with the appointment of Lynn Fusco, Erie 1 BOCES superintendent, to lead the search.
The district received 19 completed packets from candidates, and the board went through them to decide who to interview, Board President Janet MacGregor Plarr said. Interviews took place Monday and Tuesday evening, and more are scheduled for the end of this month. She declined to say how many candidates will be interviewed.
There will be no interviews by community or stakeholder groups before the board selects the superintendent.
"Community members had their opportunity to participate in beginning of the process when we had forums," Plarr said. "The hiring of the superintendent is one of the most important jobs a board of education member has."
