Turner donates teddy bears to mark opening of Children's Hospital

The construction company that built the new John R. Oishei Children's Hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus will donate more than 200 teddy bears to the hospital on Wednesday.

Turner Construction Co. said its donation ensures that children receive a new "friend" to celebrate completion of the hospital. Each stuffed bear wears a T-shirt stating "A Bear Hug for You."

“The John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital project has meant so much to our staff and we were all touched by the events leading up to the move last week. It feels great to give something back that will directly benefit the children," said Steve Perrigo, vice president and deputy operations manage for Turner's Western New York operations, in a prepared statement.
