Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown's 2018 Capital Budget proposal has been filed and now it's time for the Common Council to review the $22.8 million spending plan.
Council Members will hold a budget workshop at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Council Chambers on the 13th Floor of City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
The recommended capital budget is a fine-tuned version of the proposal crafted by the Citizens Planning Council, which reviewed more than $50 million in requests for capital spending, Brown said.
His spending recommendations include $6.8 million set aside for city-wide street and sidewalk improvements, $1.5 million for city-wide demolitions and building code compliance, and $1.3 million for equipment for the Parks Department and the Sanitation Division.
The Council has until Dec. 15 to adopt the recommended capital budget.
