Kenmore village officials aren't going to get a little late-autumn flurry hysteria keep them from maintaining their status as leaders in the movement to have flexible winter parking rules.
For the second straight year, the village has seen no epic winter storm in the extended forecast and as a result will delay its overnight parking ban until Dec. 1.
It made the announcement on its website.
"Given extended weather forecasts, the Village of Kenmore will be delaying the start of the Winter Off-Street Parking Ban til December 1, 2017. If weather forecasts change, you will be notified. We ask your cooperation in removing cars off the street during any significant snow to allow for snow plows."
The ban, which prohibits parking on village streets from 2 to 6 a.m., is supposed to run from Nov. 15 until March 15.
Kenmore last year pushed the ban's start date from Nov. 1 to Nov. 15 and then later moved it back to Dec. 1. Several other suburban communities have followed suit.
