A situation involving police on Grauer Road in the Town of Niagara has ended peacefully, Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour said.
A suspect in the incident is in custody, Voutour tweeted.
Authorities have not released any further detail about the situation, which was believed to involve some type of domestic incident.
Residents on Grauer between Military and Hermitage roads were asked to shelter in place.
An alert was issued over the NY Alert system at 12:52 p.m. and canceled at 1:31 p.m.
