Homeroom Announcements: Thursday's big games & more

What to watch for Thursday

1. Girls volleyball - Class AA & A Far West Regionals at Daemen College

Winners advance to the state semifinals next Saturday in Glens Falls.

Class AA: Clarence vs. V-Victor, 6 p.m.

The Red Devils won their fourth straight Section VI Class AA title to move on to the Far West Regionals, where their season has ended the past three years. Clarence lost to eventual state champ Penfield last season. Victor dethroned Penfield in the Section V final last Saturday in four sets.

Class A: Williamsville East vs. V-Irondequoit, 8 p.m.

The Flames also won their fourth sectional title in a row, but they advanced to the state tournament the past two seasons by beating Pittsford Sutherland. East finished third at states in 2016. Irondequoit swept Sutherland, the five-time defending Section V champ, last Saturday.
