Blues concert seeks to encourage organ donations

A blues concert will be held Nov. 13 to benefit ONE8FIFTY, a Buffalo-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to the cause of increasing organ donations in New York State.

The Hayden Fogle Band and Mr. Conrad & Friends will be featured performers at the "Celebration of Life" blues event, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Sportsmens Tavern, 326 Amherst St.. The goal of the event is to create awareness of the need for organ donors.

Tickets are $20 and available via Sportsmens website, Sportsmensbuffalo.com, and also at the door. Further information about organ donations, including a link to register as a donor, is available at the www.ONE8FIFTY.org website.

ONE8FIFTY was founded by Thomas Jasinski, 57, of Kenmore, who credits his survival to multiple organ transplants. He said New York ranks below every other state in registrations for organ donations.
