City of Lockport: Farrell ousts incumbent Mullane from Common Council

Democratic Alderwoman Anita Mullane, the prime focus of the City of Lockport's Republicans, was ousted from her 2nd Ward Common Council seat Tuesday by a fellow Democrat.

Amanda E. Farrell, who received the Republican nomination, downed Mullane, 583-451, in complete but unofficial Board of Elections returns.

Lockport Democrats missed their chance at payback, as 5th Ward Alderman Richard E. Abbott, a Democrat who became a supporter of GOP Mayor Anne E. McCaffrey, survived a challenge from Michelle M. Roman, the endorsed Democrat. Abbott won, 502-417.

Alderman Mark S. Devine, a Republican who often doesn't support McCaffrey, easily held his 3rd Ward seat. Council President David R. Wohleben, a Republican, defeated Roxanne M. Devine, Mark Devine's cousin, in the 4th Ward.
