Man shot in back outside convenience store

A man was shot in the back after arguing with his attacker in the parking lot of an East Side convenience store early Sunday.

Ferry-Fillmore District police said the victim was shot once in the left side of his back at Ferry Express Mart, 966 E. Ferry St. He walked into the emergency room of Erie County Medical Center, about four blocks away. He was reported in stable condition with a non-life-threatening wound.

At the shooting scene, police said they found five .22-caliber shell casings. The shooter was seen running away through the Donovan Drive apartment complex.
