Cheektowaga sets Veterans Day tribute

A Veterans Day ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Monument in Cheektowaga Town Park.

It will include an invocation by the Rev. Richard Zajac, chaplain at Sisters of Charity Hospital; the National Anthem performed by the Cheektowaga Chorale; and a Veterans Day poem by George Ross of the Cheektowaga Veterans Affairs Committee.

In addition, the Pine Hill Drum & Bugle Corps will play a medley of military arrangements with Taps performed by bugler Sgt. John Lombardo.

The program will be dedicated to the memory of Raymond Wolniewicz, a member of the Veterans Affairs Committee.

Refreshments will be served in the town's ice rink conference room immediately after the ceremony.
