A Lancaster man who went to a motel to have sex with a 12-year-old girl, only to find himself face-to-face with an FBI agent, is headed for prison.
Larry J. Thompson, 60, of Cedarbrook Drive, pleaded guilty Wednesday in State Supreme Court to attempted second-degree criminal sexual act. He faces up to four years in state prison when he is sentenced Dec. 13 by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.
Niagara County First Assistant District Attorney Holly E. Sloma said Thompson arranged the Aug. 16 encounter after answering an online advertisement, but was caught in an FBI sting set up by a task force fighting crimes against children. Thompson was arrested at a motel on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls.
