Micah Hyde Thursday became the first defensive back in Buffalo Bills history to be named AFC Defensive Player of the Month.
The safety received the honor the strength of his four interceptions in October. He leads the NFL with five, with his first coming in the Bills' season-opening victory against the New York Jets, their opponent on Thursday night at MetLife Stadium.
Hyde, who joined the Bills in the offseason as a free agent from the Green Bay Packers, has been the catalyst in allowing the Bills to lead the league with 17 takeaways and in turnover ratio at plus-14.
Besides having a remarkable nose for the ball, Hyde also had 22 tackles and broke up six passes in October.
