CARROW, Calvin H.

CARROW - Calvin H. Of Hamburg, entered into rest October 31, 2017. Beloved husband of Carole (nee Ebling) Fijas Carrow and the late Marilyn (nee Haas) Carrow; devoted father of Daniel (Jean) Carrow; loving step-father of Marian, Lauren, and Fred (Bridget); cherished grandfather of Ethan, Mitchell, Hannah, Adam, Nicole, Megan, Emily, Matthew, Abby, and Olivia; dear son of the late Howard and Dorothy Carrow; adored brother of June and the late Howard, Jean and Elizabeth; also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the Lombardo Funeral Home (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd. (near Lake Ave.) on Friday from 3-7PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment Trinity Cemetery. Calvin was a graduate of Orchard Park High School in 1948. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a flight instructor and received both the National Service Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He retired as a Staff Sergeant in the winter of '54 and returned to Orchard Park where he married Marilyn. He worked at his wife's family farm for 10 years, was an office manager at 3M in Buffalo, owned a Texaco service station in Hamburg for several years and retired from the US Postal Service in 1995 after 20 years of service. Calvin spent the last 20 years working with his good friend George Schichtel at Schichtel's Nursery. He coached little league in both Hamburg and Orchard Park, was an avid hunter, church member at Trinity Lutheran, Grace Lutheran, and St. Paul's Lutheran over the years, but above all was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
